I want to thank all of you who volunteer their time in making life a little nicer for the babies in Riverside's NICU unit.

I am the Grandmother of twins....William (left) and Tatum (right) who were born 3 months premature on April 21st.   They both still remain hospitalized as I write this. (...webmaster note: 12 July 2001)

It was so comforting to see your handmade afghans and quilts on all the babies little beds.   It meant so much to all of us to think that your group works so hard to provide this for the babies!   It makes it more "homey" for the babies to have something that we can call "their own".   There are no words to express our gratitude for all that you do.....thank you all for caring and sharing with my little sweethearts.

....(From the Webmaster).... Mrs. Hall informed us that little Tatum passed away shortly after these photos were sent. Our heartfelt sympathy to the family.

Hi Everyone,
Just received these photos today via e-mail that were taken YESTERDAY! Wanted to show all of you new pictures of our little miracle baby William and his Mommy, Wendy!

He is doing GREAT! He seems to be right on track in his growing process! Still on oxygen and the feeding tube for now. He is such a happy baby! Loves to smile and laugh. Loves life! Of course I think he is brilliant! He now has 4 teeth to go with that beautiful dimpled smile!

We think of all of you so much and are thankful for your wonderful group!

Hope these pictures come through OK. One of William and one of William and me (Grandma!) (William Jeffrey Violand, born 4/21/2001...twin to our little angel, Tatum). William is 20 months old now. He isn't walking yet but crawling all over the place! He still has the feeding tube but only at night now. He eats during the day but still requires the feeding tube at night for the extra calories he requires daily. Hopefully it can be removed sometime in 2003! He has weekly speech, occupational and physical therapy and is making great progress. He is the love of my life!

I just had to tell all of you...his favorite blanket is one that was made by TLL! It is a fleece blanket with cookie monster on it! He never leaves home with out it either! When he is tired he snuggles up to it and says "ni-ni".

I think of you all so often and enjoy reading the monthly newsletters.
Thank you for all you do!

Another year has passed since I have been in contact with you! Attached is a picture of William who just turned 3 yesterday! You may add this picture to his others I have e-mailed you on the website. He starts pre-school today! Such a big boy now! He still has speech, occupational and physical therapy weekly. He is doing WONDERFUL. He is just small for his age, understandably! He talks so much and is such a joy to have around! He and his mother (Wendy) moved to California to live with us last May. We just love having them here. Every night when I am tucking William in I think of all of you as I cover him with his TLL blanket that he STILL uses! He will stand by the dryer and wait for it when I have washed it!

I enjoy your newsletters and website and looking at the pictures too.
Sincerely,
Pam Hall (William's Grandma)
