Approximate size 13" X 13" 2 ½ oz Caron Simply Soft in White (MC) Crochet hook, size H 2 ¾ yards of ¼" or 3/8 wide ribbon (white or matching color) With MC, ch. 44. To work V-St, (dc, ch1,dc) in st. indicated. To work shell, 5 dc in st. indicated Row 1: 2 dc in fourth ch from hook skip next 3 chs work V-St in next ch *skip next 3 chs work shell in next ch skip next 3 chs work V-St in next ch repeat from * above across to last 4 chs skip next 3 chs 3 dc in last ch: 4 shells Row 2: (right side) ch 3 (counts as first dc, now and throughout) turn dc in same st work shell in next V-St (ch-1 sp) *work V-St in center dc of next shell work shell in next V-St repeat from * above 3 times more 2 dc in last dc Row 3: ch 3 turn 2 dc in same st work V-St in center dc of next shell *work shell in next V-St work V-St in center dc of next shell repeat from * above 3 times more 3 dc in last dc repeat Rows 2 and 3 until afghan measures approximately 10 ½", ending by working Row 3. Finish off Edging: Row 1: with right side facing, join with slip stitch in any corner. Ch 1 3 sc in same st (sc evenly around afghan with 3 sc in each corner join with slip st to first sc slip st in corner) Slip stitch over to 2nd stitch of 3 single crochet group Row 2: (Eyelet rnd for ribbon) Ch 6, working in sc across row dc in same st (corner) *Ch1 dc in next sc ch1 (skip next sc, dc in next sc, ch1) across to last 2 sc dc in next sc ch 1 (dc, ch 3, dc) in last sc (corner) repeat from * above 2 more time ch1 dc in next sc ch1 (skip next sc, dc in next sc, ch 1) across join with slip st to 3rd ch of beginning ch 6 Row 3: Slip st in corner ch1 (sc, ch 3, sc, ch 3, sc) in same sp *(sc, ch 3, sc) in each ch 1 space across to corner (sc, ch 3, sc, ch 3, sc) in corner sp repeat from * above 2 times more (sc, ch 3, sc) in each ch 1 sp across join with slip st to first sc Finish off Finishing: Cut 4 strips of ribbon 24" long. Weave ribbon through eyelet rnd along each side of afghan. Tie ends in a bow at each corner. Trim ends of ribbon. |
